As a child, when I learned just a little about Japan in elementary school, I became immediately fascinated. So much about the culture stood out to me and kept me hooked. On my own, I read easy books about Japanese geography, culture, manners, and vocabulary. It wasn't until high school I had the opportunity to study the Japanese language formally--through an independent study course developed by a college professor.

As an adult, I have put much time and effort into studying the Japanese at university, and I still have much to learn. I am very grateful to my instructors, who have exercised great patience and have labored hard for my benefit. In the summer of 2017, I briefly studied abroad in Japan, mainly in Aichi Prefecture. That was an eye-opening and inspiring six weeks, but too short for me. Ever since then, I have dreamed of returning, though the opportunity has not presented itself.

So much about the Japanese lifestyle resonates with me, especially those facets of a more historical or traditional kinds. Despite my American heritage, Japan is where I long to be, and I desire to return very soon. Spending my time there with a Japanese soulmate would be even better. Here I am, hoping that I might meet her whenever the time is right. My intention is to learn all I can from her, love and support her with all my best, and for us to share a beautiful life together.
